On a trip to the upstate of South Carolina on November 10, 2003 (Ben and Alex's birthday is on November 11), President Bush met with the Comen family on the tarmac at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport. The Comens presented Bush with a T.L. Hanna High School sweatshirt, and the president praised Ben for his achievements and shared running stories.
